At Layton Lakes Dental Care, we are happy to offer dentures to our patients.

A denture is a removable appliance that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost some or all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health.

Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

We offer all different types of complete dentures: conventional dentures, immediate dentures, and
overdentures.

Conventional dentures: Are typically made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has
healed completely. A conventional denture is usually ready for placement in the mouth about 16 – 24
weeks after the teeth have been removed.

Immediate dentures: Are made prior to removing teeth. They can be placed in the mouth as soon as the
teeth are removed. As a result, the wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period.
However, bones and gums shrink over time, especially during the healing period following tooth
removal. So, immediate dentures require adjustments to fit properly and generally serve as a temporary
solution until conventional dentures can be made.

Overdentures: Implants can be placed to preserve your jawbone and provide stability and support for a
denture. An overdenture is a complete denture that fits over implants and is generally more stable than
conventional dentures.

As each and every patient is unique with different needs, we encourage you to call the office at (480) 306-5506 and set up a consult.
